Vice Governor of Yogyakarta Give Appreciation to Green and Clean Program

"We give our high appreciation to the initiator of DIYGC program, the future of this program is expected to be done continuously and not only for a ceremonial, thus it could inspire all the layers that exist in the city of Yogyakarta to be more responsible for the environment," Vice governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Paduka Paku Alam IX to begin a greeting from a Governor of Yogyakarta.

Tuesday morning in the city of Yogyakarta, a Governor office of Yogyakarta have been filled with the guess invitation from all government institution members in Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta Green and Clean (DIYGC) will run again and this year will be their fourth year of the program implementation. The program will focus on community assistance in managing the environment.  It will focus on one town and district, namely the city of Yogyakarta and Sleman. These two areas have high total population among the other areas. Therefore, the benefits of the program hopefully can be more impactful in the society. While for three other areas will still be mentored as well.

Assistant Environmental Program Manager Yayasan Unilever Indonesia, Astri Wahyuni, "The focus of the program will be more on organic waste management through waste  bank, in which people can obtain economic values from those inorganic waste management, thus it can support the program in ongoing basis. H Haryadi Suyuti also added, "We need to make the city of Yogyakarta as a tourism city, which the green and clean aspects through the waste bank become part of the culture."

Up until now a year of 2010, the regions that have been participated in the program, there were 361 DIYGC RW / dukuh with total cadres approximately 3000 people.
